Science Rules!

Several weeks ago, and Matt and I were heading out for our normal early morning routine - I drop him off at before school care and get to work around 7:15a, Matt had a crisis. "I don't know what kind of scientist I want to be when I grow up!" Thankfully, he has plenty of time to figure that out.

I coordinated the first annual Science Night at Matthew's school. We had over 25 exhibitors with hands on science activities. Over 350 people attended the event. Matthew had a great time!

Curt and Kyra with Matthew's teacher from last school year, Ms. Sobczuk - the best kindergarten teacher ever.

EWU Hockey

Matthew got to be 7th man for the opening of an EWU hockey game. Then, during first period intermission, his team scrimmaged.

Fun with snow

Hotsprings

Over Martin Luther King weekend, Matthew had a hockey tournament in Nelson BC. We took a quick side trip to Ainsworth Hotspirngs. They have a big warm pool. Then a small hot pool that goes into a cave. The kids and Curt swam, and I took photos. I couldn't swim because of my stiches. Bummer.

Kids have tubes in their ears. So they wear ear plugs and then headbands as a precaution.

Kitchen Princess

Kyra got a kitchen and princess costumes for Xmas. She loves them.

She can cook and hold a baby at the same time!

Grammy & Grampy's Visit

So, the kids had one of their best Xmas vacations ever. We were supposed to spend a week at Newport, OR, with my family. But I had to go in to the hospital for lung surgery. So, plans changed, and Grammy (Barb), Grampy (Martin, Margee's dad) and Becky (Barbs oldest daughter) came to town to take care of the kids, while I was in the hospital. This allowed Curt to hang with me, rather than trying to juggle taking care of the kiddos, and taking care of me.

The kids went sledding, swimming, climbing, to movies, and had a great time. The day of the surgery, Margee's college friend, April, and her family took Gramps and the kids out for pictures with Santa, to check out the gingerbread houses, and for lunch. The kids had a great time! This was a great distraction for all, while I was in surgery. Thanks to everyone for helping the Chambers family out over the Xmas holiday!

Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of Barb and Becky. Becky left before I was released from the hospital. Barb was around for a few more days, when I returned home, but I was so sick I wasn't taking photos. And, I'm the person in charge of the camera in our family.

Dad stayed for several more weeks to help me out around the house. The kids loved having Grampy over.

They made a gingerbread house.

Ginger had a lap to snuggle on while Gramps read.

This is the way you saw them on most late mornings or late afternoons.

Kyra had fun playing - pretending she was a baby.

I'm soooooo cute.

Gramps got to see Matt play hockey!

Picture time!

Holiday Tradition

A Chambers tradition is to visit a local conservatory, where volunteers decorate the plants with holiday lights. It's amazing!

Attempt at Xmas Photos

One evening after work and school, I had the kids get dressed up to try to take some good photos for the Xmas cards. They had a bunch of fun, but weren't in the mood to sit and take pictures.

What's on my dress mom?

Ahhh!!!!

Silly kids.

Let's try a photo with the dog. Or not.

Turkey Day

We had turkey day at our house. Margee's cousin Christina and her family and our good friend Chase were able to join us.
