Annual trip to Manito Lights

Every holiday season we either go to the Nutcracker or the Symphony. We also go to Manito Lights - where volunteers decorate the conservatory with holiday lights. It's awesome. The photos can't quite capture how magical it is.

Cool old Jade tree.

Our house is safe with Clone Trooper Matthew.

Kyra and her dog Ginger.

Look at those cute kids.

Pacific Science Center

On of Matthew's favorite places in Seattle is the Pacific Science Center. And, they had a special Harry Potter exhibit. How cool is that! No photos allowed in the special exhibit though.

Curt's Aunt Jenny, her grandson Aiden and Kyra. Kyra doesn't want to ride the catepiller.

Matthew and Yaseen (the oldest son of one of Margee's oldest friends, Megan, they've been friends since preschool - over 34 years!)

The butterfly exhibit is totally awesome. We could spend all day there.

Curt, Kyra and Megan. Kyra must have had some good boogers, in most photos of the day, she had a finger in her nose!

Megs, Margs and Kyra.

Pile-up on the slide!

That was fun, let's do it again!

Kyra and a red sports car.

Kyra had fun in the toddler section at the science center.

We're waiting for Matt and Curt to get out of the Harry Potter exhibit - Kyra had a meltdown, so we left. It was a long, cold wait! But we had a nice view of the space needle (below).

The troll under the freemont bridge - always fun to visit.

And climb!

Curt's favorite statue in the area.

Thanksgiving Dinner at Curt's Aunt Jenny's

We went to Seattle for Turkey Day because Curt's mother (Connie), brother (Chris), sister (Adrienne) and her daughter, Porshe were all in town visiting. Curt has an Aunt (Jenny) and cousins that live in the Seattle-area. Ususally when we visit Seattle, we get to visit with some part of Aunt Jenny's family.

Unfortunately, during this visit, I didn't get any photos with Connie and her grandkids, Kyra and Matthew. Connie is good at hiding from the camera.

We had a great time visiting with everyone. I think it's been almost three years since Curt saw his mother.

Adrienne and Kyra.

Porsche and Curt. Porshe is Curt's oldest neice, she graduated from high school and is working at a childcare center at the AFB in San Angelo. This was her first paid vacation - checking out the sights in Seattle.

Thanksgiving Morning at the Zoo

A snowy morning at the Zoo. And we had the place almost to ourselves, being Thanksgiving and all.

It was too cold outside for the gorillas, but the statues were fun to play with.

The bears were out. Bears are Kyra's favorite animals.

Bath fun

Bath is one of Kyra's favorite things.

Snow Play

Time to play in the snow!

Hockey Time

Getting ready to go to hockey early one Sat. morning.

Who's that cool hockey dude? In the video below, Matt's in the red and navy jersey, #12.

First Real Hockey Game

Today was Matt's first real hockey game. He's played in a few 3 on 3 tournaments, but this was real hockey and he had a blast. He's on the Spokane Wild team. At this mornings game (start time of 7am, yikes), there were a total of 4 Junior Mite teams (that's his league name). They rotated and played a total of three 20-minute games, so that every team had a chance to play against each other. Oh- the split the arean into two.

Matthew had a blast. Everyone played so well, it was wonderful to see. Matt is leaning towards defense and had a great time playing goal - had three amazing blocks. After he was done with those blocks, he came over to the "audience" side of the ice and waved to us with a huge smile. We didn't get any good pictures of the games, but here's an OK one of Matthew (he's center).

HALLOWEEN!

We had a whole week full of Halloween festivities. It all started Tuesday and MONSTER MATH NIGHT at Holmes Elementary School. Then classroom party and parade on Friday. Friday evening we had Kyra's schools party and then a community party at West Central Community Center. Saturday, a party at Navi's house. Then Sunday, The Bugs Bunny Symphony, with a costume contest, and then trick-or-treating. Fun, fun, fun. Matt was DEATH. Kyra was a bear.

Getting ready to go to Monster Math Night.

Scary death.

Matt's class just after the all school parade. It was super cool. All of the K-3 grades paraded through the classrooms on the main level of the school, and actually going into each classroom. Every class joined the back of the parade, after it went through their room. Then the parade went through the gym, where 4-6 graders were. Then they joined the tail end of the parade and went through all of the K-3 rooms. It was awesome! Then a classroom party. Matt's in black on the far left.
