Visiting Vietnam

This August we traveled to southern Vietnam to take part in Margee's brothers wedding. We visited Ho Chi Mihn City (Siagon), Ben Hoa, Vung Tao, and Phan Tiet/Mu Ne beach. Fun trip, but much too short for all of the traveling. The kids had a great time. Here are some photos of the adventure.

Margee and Kyra on the waterfront in Vung Tao - it's seven in the morning and HOT!

Uncle Marty with Kyra - on the way to the brides parents home in Ben Woa for the night before the wedding dinner.

The building with the red and gold decorations in the upper left corner is Xuan's house and when some of the wedding ceremonies and party will take place. Following tradition, the grooms wedding party had to parade down the very busy street to the wedding. We're just trying to get the peole organized to form a parade when this picture was taken of Matthew.

A produce stand at a market in Siagon. It's too bad markets like this don't exist in the US - they are quite an experience!

First Feeding!

Yesterday Kyra ate her first solid food. We had to wait until after the Vietnam trip to introduce to the wonderful world of food - and she loved it. She's been wanting to eat the last couple of months, but with her allergy's and our travel plans, we opted to wait until she was 6 months old, just as we did with Matthew.

6-month Check-up

Kyra is long and lean. At het 6-mo. doctors appointment today, she weighed 13#8oz. (8th percentile) and was 26" long (60th percentile.) Look at that funny face - I don't think she liked the taste of mom's goggles!

Soccer Fun

Matt took soccer classes this summer and had a blast. As he said after his team scored a goal during a scrimmage "let's rock and roll!"
